The Learning Renaissance

What Teachers Want from Educational Technology Tools | e-Learning Infographics

This infographic summarises the response of US teachers to the need to develop digital literacy. It provides some insights into implementation issues in your own schools..

It has been my experience when working in UK schools undergoing such transformations that generally senior leadership over-invest in kit and under-invest in CPD, and new working patterns which reduce the silo mentality of the subject department.

Subsequently ICT implementation is derailed by individual departments setting their own agenda for development, rather than a whole school programme of learning development. Teachers therefore see the development of their ICT competence as an additional burden in their busy schedules, rather than a more effective and productive way to achieve their primary objective – engaging and extending the performance of every student.

About educationalist04

I'm convinced we can, as a species, do much better than this if we set our minds to being much more positive and productive towards our fellow humans. The solution is learning - creating independent and autonomous learners who can problem solve, innovate and create a better more equitable and sustainable world.
