World War Two – The Casualties in Graphics, from Upworthy

It is often very difficult to appreciate the magnitude of the misery and death caused by World War Two. As Stalin said, “One death is a tragedy. A million is a statistic.”

This collection of infographics from Upworthy attempts to put a perspective on the civilian and military losses in World War Two. It is stunning in its clarity and perspective and would be a useful starting point for the study of this and other wars.
