Balancing Learning: Turning STEM into STEAM

5mff_stemtosteam-01When looking to the skills required of the future, there is an understandable emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. These subjects promote many of the key skills the future will require such as teamwork, presentation skills, problem solving and time management. Industry and the services have often been used to promote such an agenda.

It can be equally argued that the Arts, in their broadest sense, can also promote such skills as well as creativity. The Digital Arts prove a case in point for the interplay of creativity associated with the arts combined with technical skills traditionally associated with the sciences.

This video playlist highlights programs and projects that are exploring STEAM learning.
