Meetings, damned meetings and wastes of time and space

The most abiding negative memory of all the time I spent in schools was that of the ineffective staff meeting.

I’ve sat through all day meetings designed to impart understanding of differentiation which comprised a monotone delivery based on 97 acetate slides. I’ve sat through meetings where there was no agenda, but we had to attend as the meeting was calendared! I’ve endured meetings which were meant to endorse decisions already taken or were opportunities to re-hash entrenched positions.

It isn’t rocket science: purpose, preparation, punctuality, process and product. This is why this infographic appealed to me…
