Another Government U-turn as return to ‘halcyon’ days proves an illusion!

As a former History teacher, I’ve done the calculations  and I think the Tory government is looking to recreate the year 1955 in its backward looking education policy.

The fetish with grammar schools, the preoccupation with testing, all points to a society and economy geared to meet the demands of the 1950s.

Unfortunately, whenever the government policy announcements touch reality they prove to be impractical and counter-productive…
