School Heads Share Concerns in England


Despite the fragmentation of the education estate in England which has been caused by government privatisation policies designed to turn all schools run by local authorities into Academies, Headteachers are banding together to put pressure on the government’s education policy.

Head teachers are increasingly forming professional groups which are lobbying for changes in direction of education policy and also increases in funding, which has dropped significantly in recent years as a result of austerity cuts. The scale of the cuts has some Heads suggesting that they will need to cut school opening hours…
