The start of a new term means there is likely to be an INSET day in the offing…
Ross Morrison McGill wrote this article that got me thinking about the worst INSET day speakers I’ve sat through. I think the worst was a keynote speaker who came to give an illustrated talk about the importance of differentiation and treating learners as individuals. This was before Power Point and his talk consisted of 87 OHP slides, which half way through the 3 hour talk, he dropped and spent ten minutes trying to rearrange!
Ross explores commonly seen things not to do when presenting to an INSET audience. I touch upon similar themes in my new book, Future Proof Your School.
