The Learning Renaissance

The Shape of Things to Come…

If anything summed up the attitude to education/learning development of the Learning Renaissance team, it is this infographic.

However, it should be qualified. There are, in fact, no times of stability, only times of change and instability. The changes instituted by the industrial revolution have accelerated during the silicon age. Knowledge and information is expanding exponentially, which is why it is futile trying to build a curriculum around a set body of mostly redundant knowledge.

The future lies in the development of independent and autonomous learners whose curriculum is composed of experiences designed to enable them to develop and deploy appropriate attitudes, behaviours and competencies to problem-solve for themselves and work effectively in teams towards socially useful and responsible outcomes.

About educationalist04

I'm convinced we can, as a species, do much better than this if we set our minds to being much more positive and productive towards our fellow humans. The solution is learning - creating independent and autonomous learners who can problem solve, innovate and create a better more equitable and sustainable world. My books, Future Proof Your School and Re-Examining Success together with this blog, explore how better learning outcomes for all can be achieved.
