The Learning Renaissance

Via Ferrata with ISSET

One of my favourite collaborations is with Chris Barber of the International Space School Educational Trust.

Their mission is not just to promote world class Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics education, but also to inspire young people to develop the attitudes and behaviours of highly successful people.

There can be fewer more inspiring people than astronauts and Chris has unprecedented access to them. For this Astronaut Leadership Programme in Cumbria in March 2013, US Navy Captain and former Shuttle pilot Ken Ham and his wife, former NASA Astronaut trainer Michelle Ham, joined us to explore the leadership envelope in the wilds of Cumbria in a cold March. This short video marks the ascent of the Via Ferrata in Honister Pass.

About educationalist04

I'm convinced we can, as a species, do much better than this if we set our minds to being much more positive and productive towards our fellow humans. The solution is learning - creating independent and autonomous learners who can problem solve, innovate and create a better more equitable and sustainable world. My books, Future Proof Your School and Re-Examining Success together with this blog, explore how better learning outcomes for all can be achieved.
